Syncing Existing MPEG Videos to iPod 5G?

I know you can use iMovie to convert projects for the 5G iPod...but is the process the same for existing MPEG-4 video? FOr example, I have some QuickTime music videos from commercial CDs that I would like to transfer. I have iMovie HD and QuickTime Pro 7. Will I be able to sync those videos?

Quicktime Pro 7 has an Export to iPod option in the File menu.
