Syncing issues

Couldn't find this anywhere else but I have itunes 8.2 and iphone 3.0GM and can't work out why but when ever I plug my phone in to be synced it deletes on average half of the songs and re loads them... it seems completely random which songs it delets when it does it!!!! any suggestions????
 
Just upgraded to 3Gs and its doing the same thing!!!!! but my girlfriend who has taken my phone has seemed to stop!!! what can I do this is the most irritating thing in the world
