Syncing mail accounts via mobile me

So I just got mine from best buy, one of 5. Typing is a bit weird I keep looking for a tab key and there isn't one. Also I added my mobile me account and it did sync my calendars and contacts and everything but isn't it supposed to sync my other non mobile mail accounts such as gmail over the air as well, or do imhave to do that through iTunes.
