I have an iPod touch that I occasionally use to watch movies. But as I had been running out of space, I disabled movie-syncing in iTunes. Now I noticed that I had close to 2GB of free space on the iPod, and I decided to sync a movie to the device. As I enabled movie-syncing, I got a dialog-box that said "enabling movie sync ill remove all music from your iPod, are you sure you want to continue". I brushed the dialog-box off and clicked OK, and sure enough, it removed all music on my iPod!

Um, what the hell is that about? Why did it remove my music?

It should not remove the music, of course. Something seems to be messed up.

If you re-sync the music playlists you want on the iPod, do the movies stay on the iPod?

I'll try it out once I get back home. Of course syncing movies shouldn't remove music, but I guess it might be due to the fact that I had entirely disabled movie-syncing, and I now tried to re-enable it.

I sync it with just one computer. And while it removed the music, it didn't touch my apps or podcasts.

I'm re-syncing the iPod as we speak.
