Syncing music and photos to iPhone

Hi everyone,

I am just trying to update my iTunes library onto my iPhone. I transferred my library of music and photos when I activated my iPhone, but want to add my new music and photos. Strangely when I connect my iPhone it comes up in the side panel in iPhoto but not in iTunes. In the preferences part of iPhoto, under devices, the disable automatic syncing from iPhones and iPods is not ticked so I don't know what is going on.

Please help.
