Syncing music on apple watch taking forever..

Hi! I have just downloaded an apple music playlist (Nike + curated) on my iphone. I tried to sync it on my apple watch but it doesn't seems to be working.. The watch is charging, i can see that the playlist is syncing... But it's taking forever, i am not even sure if this is working at all. For example, this playlist has been syncing for like 3 hours!!!

For the few times I've tried to sync about 3-4 GB, I watched it plod along for at least an hour before I just left it overnight to finish. Not sure how long it took, exactly.

My phone says Sync pending but the watch is on the charger and the playlist is downloaded on my phone, i just don't get it..
