Other Syncing Music

Apple makes things so difficult. I have music on my computer I sync. But I also was using iCloud sync. When I restored this phone, all my non-Apple music didn't copy over. When I look in Music app, it shows but of course didn't sync. When I tried to sync my playlists back, it says iCloud Music sync is on and to turn it off. So you can't sync your own music and Apple Music at the same time? When I tried to add an Apple Music song to a playlist, it says to turn on iCloud Music sync. What gives?

It’s like it says. You can sync to Apple Music or you can sync to your computer. One, not both.
