Syncing of game data across devices?

I have recently been playing slam dunk king on my iPhone 4s. The game data is backed up to iCloud every night.

Today, I upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS 5... I downloaded slam dunk king because I wanted to resume where I left my iPhone 4s game. However, it does not let me do this, it just starts the game from the start again.

I have even tried syncing both devices to iCloud again, but I have had no luck resuming my iPhone 4S save on my iPad 2

any ideas?
