When syncing movies, I set it to sync certain playlists. Two that I've created for Feature Films and Personal movies.

On :apple:TV, All I get is a complete list of movies on both playlists, I can't select the playlists. In music, I get all my playlists I can choose from, so why not in movies? What's the point of letting you sync movie playlists if it doesn't show you those playlists on the TV? Or am I missing something?

The unhappy truth is that playlists are not supported in movies.

Grr, this makes no sense. Gotta wonder how they QA the user interface sometimes...did no one while testing go, "you know, we allow syncing of music playlists and they show up in :apple:TV, since we allow syncing of movie playlists, they should also transfer over to :apple:TV to be consistent"

Yeah, well, there's more to it than meets the eye, and this has been an on-going issue since they launched the original v. 1.0.

Playlists imply repeat, shuffle, etc. They can also refer to items in your library, synced or not.

I think Apple is less motivated to "finishing" a product than they are to "marketing and proving there's a market." Witness the iPhone -- still awaiting copy/paste, etc. I think that once the :apple:TV "takes off" and becomes as popular as, say, the Zune... er... iPod, they'll start filling in the gaps.

We've had people with legitimate business needs, most recently one with an exercise class, who use :apple:TVs instead of DVDs, request repeating playlists but, alas.
