Hi Everyone,

I have a rMBP, iphone, and I'm getting an Asus laptop/tablet and will load Win10 when its out this summer.

What is the best way to sync Contacts and Calendar OTA between these devices? Right now I just use iCloud to sync between rMBP and my iphone, but when I add Windows 10 to the mix, how would I do that, if I want to use the standard People and Calendar Windows 10 apps (and not Outlook)?

I don't use iCloud for my email, so if there is another service besides iCloud to sync, that is also fine (ie: Outlook.com)

Thanks

To my knowledge it's currently not possible. The Win10 standard apps only support Outlook.com. But the only way to access the contacts and calendars on Outlook.com is via Exchange Activesync, which in turn is not supported by any client on the Mac.

PS: The Win10 apps *may* work with Google calendar/contacts (but I haven't tested it yet). If this turns out to be true, that would probably be the best option (since you can also use Google on Mac via CalDav/CardDav).

Great thank you! Would I need to disable icloud and just use google, or could I have calendar and contacts syncing to both services simultaneously?

You can use both Google and iCloud simultaneously on the Mac, if you want. But of course iCloud will not be synced with Google.

But before you do anything, I'd suggest to wait until the final version of Win10 is out. The new mail and calendar apps only just appeared in the recently leaked build, and it's unclear what the capabilities of the final versions will be.
