So I'm using mobileMe to sync my desktops to my iphone 2.0. I have my own personal calendars which sync just fine, and I also have subscribed calendars eg UK public holidays. The subscribed calendars are syncing to mobileMe and thus to the other Macs just fine. BUT they do not show up on the iphone.

Now when I was using USB to sync version 1.1.4 the subscribed calendars where synced. It just seems since going to version 2.0 and using over the air syncing that I can no longer sync the subscribed calendars.

Any idea?

I have the same issue. I'm hoping when mobile me goes live there will be some options on-line to sort it. Otherwise, I guess it just doesn't happen. I hope they add this feature soon, if that's the case.

What I really want is a shared calendar, the publish and subscribe, for me, is a workaround for this.

Well I glad it's not just me... I do find it very odd that was left out. After all I'm sure lots of people have shared (subscribed) calendars and would like to still see them on the phone. In fact the old way allowed me to select which ones I wanted to sync. This new way doesn't seem to offer that option. All or nothing.

I am having the exact opposite problem. I subscribe to the US Holidays calendar. I have it on my phone without a problem. I can't seem to get it on MobileMe. How did you get it to show up there?

I've switched push off in Calendar because of this issue. With mail push being buggy as well I'm basically left with no useful push, except contacts (and there's no point in that being push anyway).

Oh well, roll on Firmware 2.0.1...

Well I did pick one of my desktops as the primary system and reset all the others to that ones data. That one had the subscribed calendars set up on it.

I too am disappointed that subscribed calendars do not show up and have turned off push for calendars for the time being. There is some more information here if you haven't already seen it:

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1213

It says little of use besides noting that subscribed calendars will not appear on an iPhone or iPod Touch, but states "This article will be updated as more information becomes available."

How did you go about setting a particular computer as "the primary system"?

I've got subscribed US Holiday Calendars on my desktop but they don't show up in either the MobileMe web interface or my iPhone.

oh that's quite easy.

just pick which one has the most accurate information, and then using the system preferences, "MobileMe" -> "sync" -> "Advanced"

you can then reset sync data, and force sync from that computer back to mobileMe. I also unregistered all the other systems too but I'm not sure if it's necessary

I've created an automater process that will do this if anyone is interested. Or if they care to know how to do it themselves.

Now I can sync my Appigo: ToDo with Apple's iCal in a subscribed calendar and then in turn sync my calendar to a format iPhone excepts. (I can view Appigo's items while on the go from one app.

This could be used for other purposes such as holiday calendars, business calendars. I think you could even export from Google Cal to Apple iCal and use this process to view it on your iPhone.

Just reply if you need/like or are interested in.

Im interested. I have subscribed calendars i need synced with my iphone

Sorry About the Delay :(

I just realized I forgot to check back to the posts... I've been really busy at CMU.
So, until 3.0 firmware comes out.... this will have to do.

You will need to create two separate calendars within iCal. One will be your subscribed calendar. and the other a normal calendar. Then...

Create an Automater Workflow. and follow these steps for the workflow.
1) The first step is called Find Events in iCal. set it to Calendar-is- (name of subscribed iCal calendar).
2) Second, Move iCal Events. set it to move events to calendar: (name of unsubscribed calendar)
3) Save your workflow and exit out.

Then inside iCal make a new event for some oddball time of the day. like 12:00 a.m. (IMPORTANT: whatever time you set it to, your computer must be on.)

Then, select Alarm->Open File->(name of automator workflow)
Create alarms to go off however often you want it to resync. So for instance. under that one task @ 12:00 a.m. I have over 15 alarms. Set to increments of 1 hour after, 2hrs, 3hrs, etc.

You only have to have 1 task on the calendar. Just multiple alarms.

Then simply set that event on your calendar to repeat everyday. This of course sounds a little more complicated then it really is.

Remember your computer will have to be on for this to keep updated, and with a internet connection. ALSO, a side note, you can uncheck your subscribed calendar in iCal, for it will still update it. That way you don't have to look at duplicates on your computer.

I have also developed a more comprehensive workflow that will work with apps such as "Todo" for the iPhone so that your tasks for that day can be viewed as all day events on your iPhone. Also I have created one that works with FaceBook Events & Birthdays.

Any interested Just let me know. and if anyone has any questions let me know!

Hope this helps :)

a bit stuck :(

Hi
Thanks for the automator info, however I get a bit stuck (with only 3 points I'm very annoyed at myself)

First step I could only choose:

'Find Calendars in iCal" - then choose Find: Eents in the subscribed calendar

Then I cannot find any "Move ical Events" I've been through all the options for ical and there doesn't seem to be anything, am I missing something :(

Thanks in advance for your help

Hey! Really sorry about that. I forgot I downloaded some automator extensions. Check out this website and download this automator add on to get the missing workflow pieces. http://automatoractions.com/files/yellowcampicalactions2.1.html

Hmmm, i'm not sure. I've only used MobileMe for a short time... though I know subscribed calenders transfer over during a normal sync, could you just do it once then be set? Since they update themselves (on the iphone too?)
