Syncing to Google Calendar while using iCloud in Outlook

How can I add an appointment to my wife's Google Calendar while in Outlook 2010 without sending my calendar information to her Google Calendar? I use iCloud to sync my main calendar in Outlook to my iPhone on a box with Windows 7.

First off , under her Calendar Settings, that particular calendar needs to be shared with your Google ID with full write access. Once done, you can check your calendar settings and see the calendar URL and add into Outlook. Then create event under this shared calendar (which is actually ur wife's).

I clicked on ical option to the right of Private Address in the Google Calendar I wanted to share and then went to Outlook under Calendar > Open Calendar > From the Internet.

I can see the calendar in Outlook but it is read-only. How and where can I change the setting in Google Calendar so I can edit the calendar?

Login at www.google.com/calendar with your wife's id/pass .. goto Settings on right side ... goto Calendars (right to General)

Find the calendar you want to share and in front of it you will see option Sharing .. selecting that will give you option to specify another email id to share with (this should be your gmail id now) and under permissions select "Make changes AND manage Sharing" .. save out all the way

Now logout and re-login to calendars using your gmail id and this shared calendar should be in your list now.. use the ical link this one shows and it should give you full edit under Outlook

I did as you advised.

When you say...Now logout and re-login to calendars using your gmail id and this shared calendar should be in your list now. Do you mean log out of Google Calendar? If so, I did that.

Then should I click on the iCal icon to the right of Private Address and in Outlook calendar click on Open Calendar > From Internet and paste the link from ICAL?

Yes , once you shared the calendar from your wife's google account to yours, it should be visible under your Google Calendars as "Shared:Edit Settings" ... so you can goto your google account and select the ical link it shows for this calendar there (not the one from your wife's account!)

I can't edit the shared Google Calendar in Outlook. From what I have read it seems impossible. Have you or anyone else had any success in trying the same thing?
