I'm syncing up my stuff on my new iMac, and I open pages so I can open a few of my documents and actually load them onto this computer.

I was trying to move itineraries into a folder I have for all the Disney itineraries I have done for families. Is there a reason I shouldn't be able to just click the itinerary document and drag it into the Disney folder I have there?

It wouldn't let me do it at all, even after I had clicked the documents and folder and had them downloaded from the cloud.

I went into my pages app on my iPad, and was able to drag them where I wanted them with no problem. They immediately popped up on the iMac in the correct folders after that.

Just wondering why that was the case...

Let me add that I have NOT been proficient with my use of the cloud across devices in the past, but I'd like to start off on the right foot now. My pad and phone are synced up nicely, so I want to go ahead and get the iMac synced properly as well.
