I've got a iPhone and shortly will have an iPad. How do you go about syncing the different devices to itunes if you want different content on both.

I'd probably want the same music content but would like to have the same movies at different resolutions going to different devises. Is that possible?

I have an iPad now (3G coming soon) and am facing the same issue, it appears I can't sync different content on both devices, any help would be appreciated.

Same as having multiple iPhones or iPods. Just choose what content you want synced to each separate device.

EDIT: Wait, what?

No need to worry. iTunes allows you to manage selected content on all devices. I have an iPad and iPhone and have had no problem syncing different content on either.

It's not a problem. There's a box you can tick in iTunes for your resolution preference. It's on the main page when you plug in your iPad.

+1 to Bcadiere & mickbab. I have an iPhone & iPad and manage the content for each within iTunes from the same computer.

Once you plug it in you will see how simple the process is

Music is the only "small" hassle.

I have a 32 gig iPhone and iPad with my whole music library.

My original iPod Touch is only 16 gig so it can't hold the whole music library.

I made a iPod Touch playlist that has about half my library plus a few other favorite playlists that I use when I sync the iPod Touch.

Problem solved.

On my computer, I sync two classic iPods, an Apple TV, gen 1 iPod Touch, 3GS iPhone, and iPad.

No Problem.

My wife syncs a 2 gen iPod Touch and a 16 gig 3GS iPhone on her MacBook.

No problem.
