I am handing over my Macbook to a friend after upgrading to a Pro, and went about deleting all my contact and calendar entries which I had already backed up. Foolishly I did this before removing the association with my Mobile Me account, so unintentionally made the "cloud" contacts and calendar blank. That would be fine except that when my new Macbook Pro tries to sync with Mobile Me it wants to delete all the existing entries on my drive instead of transferring them back to the cloud - fortunately there is a warning so I avoided that happening, but how can I restore the contacts and calendars to Mobile Me?? Help someone!!

PS there is an iphone involved too so I will need to make sure that syncs up properly.

Turn off MM sync and restore your address book. Then go to MM settings pref and in advanced, tell it you want to reset and then tell it to replace all info on MM with info from your computer.

Thanks - I just disconnected and reconnected the MM account on the Macbook and it restored everything on the first sync. Scary moment though! Very good function that it warns you when you are about to change more than 25% of your data on any one sync.
