Syncing

Since iOS 9 update , Notes on my iPhone , iPad and MBP won't sync to each other . Has apple stopped this or is it 'onhld' so to speak until the release of El Capitano

Notes upgraded with IOS 9. Does it need upgrading separately?

I am not 100% because I declined to upgrade until El Capitan is out. But I believe that is correct. From what I have read and understood.
