Syphone users-- not retrieving new SMSes?

Hiya, this is for anyone out there who uses the app Syphone to retrieve and create backups of your SMSes to your Mac.

So I've perused the forums there in search of a solution and the developer/ moderator there just basically says, it's Apples/ iTunes' fault because iTunes apparently isn't creating a legitimate backup when you synch your phone.

Here's one thread that pretty much describes what I'm experiencing.

Guess I'm wondering if any of you out there are also experiencing this occurrence? iTunes not creating a REAL backup?
