Just got a new 2.4GHz, 24" iMac. When I go to "Energy Saver" under "System Preferences", the system will hang for about a minute or two. A few times it even completely froze, and I had to force quit.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I'd appreciate it if anyone could test it out on their new iMac and see how long it takes to open or if it hangs.

Thanks!

For the record, other than that...everything is working beautifully! Feels great to be back on a Mac!

Weird. Does it act slowly in a new user account too? Do you have any power-related peripherals attached such as an APS? If the other account is fine then maybe try trashing com.apple.systempreferences.plist from your Preferences folder. :)
