Hello,

I searched the forum but I couldn't find a solution to my issue. I enter system preferences and click on desktop and screensaver. Once I do that system preferences freezes and I have to force quit out. Upon researching on the internet I found a suggestion to use the disk utility which I did. Didn't solve the problem. Another solution listed was to delete the com.apple.desktop.plist. I can't even find that file in my library to delete. I'm at a loss so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks, Brian

Same problem here. Any help would be much appreciated! This also happens to me when I attempt to change my account log in picture in System Preferences.

Guys, I had the same problem. Was on the phone with Apple Care for 2 hours last Saturday and they found that I had a corrupt file in my basic Preferences. If you log in as a guest, it will work fine. Somehow they were able to save most all of my preferences and get it back up and running perfectly. Wish I had a better answer for you!
