System Preferences icon problem

My icon system preferences from my dock is now "a blank page" how can i fix this?
i tried to remove it from the dock but no..

change that to what you want it to be

@Gregg2: what happens when YOU try what you posted?
Where did you find a "Display As..." in any right-click menu?
Looks like you are missing a step or two (even if that would affect the dock icon for an application, which it won't... )

Have you tried relaunching the Dock?
(Open the Terminal app from the Utilities folder inside the Applications folder. Type in the following and then hit return:
killall Dock
Please note the command is case-sensitive. After running the command your dock should restart and appear normally.)
