Posting for a colleague.

She's been printing without issue at work forever, but just this week, when she goes to print function in any application she's in, it crashed everything, and if she goes into system prefs > print & fax to see if the printer is still listed, that also crashes everything. When I say everything, all functions stop responding and she has to restart.

Any ideas? She's in Sierra, but has been all along, so it isn't like it's an update thing.

She's already done the disc first aid thing in utilities....

Thanks.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. It's wifi. The fault is somewhere at her end, as everybody else can still print.

She can't get into system prefs to delete the printer driver, as whenever she clicks print & fax, everything crashes....

Something has likely corrupted a pertinent System file (crash, power outage, hard drive failing).

Boot into Safe Mode and see if you can enter the Printers & Scanners preferences.

If that fails, perhaps someone here knows of a current Terminal command to "reset" the printing system.
