Has anyone tried to play Diablo 3 on Macs without strong graphics cards...in particular, these:

- Late 2010 MBA 1.6Ghz C2D, 4GB, 320m
or
- Mac Mini Server Quad Core with Intel 3000

Is it even worth trying? I know it can't be that great, but I just thought I'd ask if it was playable.

Both of those graphics cards will run the game at its absolute lowest settings. The HD 3000 will at least run the game smoothly as long as no graphical effects are turned on.

I own a 2011 mac mini 2.3 GHz intel core i5 with 8Gb ram Intel Graphics 3000HD similar to your mini server. I also own diablo 3 :D.

here are the FPS results tested at ALL high settings(textures, clutter, Physics, Shadows)

(my monitor only goes up to 1680x1050)

I'm currently on Act 2 here are the tested resolutions with FPS (some)w/ and without Anti aliasing.

1680x1050 NO AA-25
1680x1000 NO AA-25
1360x768 NO AA-32 AA ON-25
1344x1008 NO AA-28 AA ON-25
1344x840 NO AA-32 AA ON-26
1280x1024 NO AA34 AA ON-25
1280x960 NO AA-34 AA ON-27
1280x800 NO AA-38 AA ON-30
1024x768 NO AA-44 AA ON-37
1024x640 NO AA-47 AA ON 40
800x600 NO AA-60 AA ON-50

Frame rates would most likely be higher with some effects turned down. Shadows turned off gave a increase along with the other stuff. I usually play on 1344x840 and its stable.
