Just updated my 2015 MacBook Pro to Monterey and tried to with on private relay but it says in the column that certain system settings prevents private relay from working. But I can't seem to figure out which settings...I tried disabling the firewall among others. Anyone have a clue?

Is your icloud address an Apple address such as icloud.com or did you register your icloud account with a third party provider like gmail?

You can try going into network and make a new location . See if that helps.

A more advanced use case that breaks it is the use of the packet level firewall. That's the thing you manipulate at the command line with "pfctl".

It's an old hotmail that I've used forever and it works on my M1 Mac mini, iPhone and iPad. Seems to be a specific setting with this machine.
