Is this normal disk IO? my Mac mini is set up as a server hosting a tiny minecraft server (2-3 players), VPN and downloading usually less than 1gb a day.

its been up for 20 Days, systemstatsd is up to 35GB and total IO is 115/120GB!

Good question. For Yosemite this might be normal.

However it is possible to deactivate the systemstats services (com.apple.systemstatsd.plist, com.apple.systemstats.daily.plist and com.apple.systemstats.analysis.plist).

I've done this because I don't want my systems to spy on me. Another reason are the excessive disk writes which wear the SSD for no obvious reason.

How would I go about disabling them?
