I'm going to do some speed tests with the AWS iPhone 5 on Friday. I've seen as high as 28mbps down on my old HTC One S. wondering if the iPhone 5 will achieve similar results.
The reps don't know. AT&T does it to save bandwidth. But its completely false advertising. I hope T-Mobile can put them to shame with the iPhone. AT&T can no longer advertise, "Only AT&T lets your iPhone talk and surf" hahahaha
Hopefully some people will post screen shots of the speeds during a call.
Can someone please run a few speedtests while on a call?
I am curios to see the speeds. AT&T throttles all speeds during call to 1mbps or less.

Palo alto / LTE
Good fast speed. Here is VZW LTE speed in Palo Alto CA

TBH, I expected way better LTE speeds from T-mobile since LTE was just launched around here. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and check a few more times to see if it was a one time glitch/ poor signal
Washington, DC
I only have 2 bars in my apt but these numbers still good.
16.24Mbps Down
8.16Mbps Up
Exactly. Its essentially worthless and I kept telling the reps that its false advertising. They told me to take my phone to Apple. I told them at least 5 times that multiple iPhones on my account have these problems, all my friends with iPhones and Androids have these problems and there are millions on AT&Ts network with these issues. To them, I was just making random stuff up.
Speed tests are useless.
If you turn off LTE while not on a phone call what is the results from your speed tests? Just curious.
I average roughly 6-8Mbps down and 1-3Mbps up on HSPA+ not on a call. When on a call it drops to below .5Mbps. I tried explaining this to AT&T and they couldn't grasp what I was saying. Basically telling me over and over again that I will not get LTE speeds while on a call. I told them multiple times I understand that, but I can't even get Edge speeds, let alone 3G or LTE!
AT&T throttles during calls for some reason
Are you sure? Those look like you were on WiFi
