Got my T-Mobile iPhone 5 today and couldn't be happier. I let loose the shackles of AT&T.

Have not seen edge or 3G all day, not even on the highway.

I picked up a TMO SIM and opened up a prepaid account to check the service in my area. I can't even get the data to connect and fluctuates between E & 3G & No Service. It had worked previously but something seems to be off today. Perhaps too many new accounts?

Anyway, I'll try again in a different area but signal w/i my home is pretty bad. GUess I'm sticking w/ AT&T for a while. Bummer.

4S in Brooklyn, NYC

It's bc you are using a 4S. I know NYC has been refarmed to have 1900 3G service but its probably very spotty, hence why you fluctuate between E and 3G.

I had the old 5 and even though I live in an area that had been refarmed the 4g signal was so inconsistent that's why I sold it and bought the new tweaked 5 today.

The 4S does not support the AWS 1700/2100 faux 4g, only the new GSM iPhone 5 released today does.

It is so nice to have an iPhone that has a consistent "4G" signal, thank you T Mobile!!

That makes sense. I think I'm going to wait for the next iPhone 5S or 6 or whatever they are going to call it before the upgrade. I always buy my phones unlocked for international travel so I'm excited about TMO's rate structure.

is tethering free with the iphone from tmobile?

Anyone with speeds from NYC or any of the 5 boroughs on the new tweaked i5 running on TMO?

Nice, I wonder if I can get similar speeds on my VZW iPhone if I switch to tmobile.

doubtful.

tmo hasnt refarmed 3g in our area (i read somewhere that they did but it must be a VERY small area), and no lte here yet. i was going to use our att iphone 5s, but all it got was edge.

Anyone in the Seattle/Washington State area? I'm looking to switch when my contract with AT&T ends in a few months.

Here's at Seattle, WA (to be precise at Lynnwood when I bought the tmo iPhone 5). They did say our LTE will be out soon but 4G speeds are pretty good, satisfied so far.
