T-mobile 3G with jailbroken IPHONE

anyone here has working 3G on their t-mobile jailbroken/unlocked 3.1.2 iphone? i noticed once i turn on my 3G, my full signal bar goes straight to NO SERVICE and that's about it, once i turn off 3G, my signal bar goes back to normal and "E" (edge) is shown again... so does this mean 3G doesnt work on unlocked t-mobile iphones? firmware/jailbreak issue? i use blackra1n and ultrasn0w for everything. thx in advance guys.

It doesn't work in the US though.
