I'm trying to get my T-mobile edge settings updated after Pwnage 2.1 (everything worked well like past upgrades). With past firmware the settings were accessible from Settings/General/Networks. With 2.1 I have no options to setup the APN server as "internet2.voicestream.com". APN info just isn't there. Anyone know who to get Edge/T-Mobile/2.1 working?

My only options are 1) VPN or 2) WiFi under Networks. Cellular Data Network doesn't exist for me anymore. Suggestions?

Solution Found!!

Set your iphone to to Wi-Fi.
on Safari (on your iPhone) go to APN Changer (http://www.unlockit.co.nz)
Click on Continue to next page (Or donate if you feel generous).
There are three options you can click on. I know it says 3G phones but it works perfect on Gen1 phone. Select option #2. Set custom APN. Enter "internet2.voicestream.com" without quotes for the APN. Leave username and password blank. Then download custom config, then install and viola - problem solved!

There is also a package in Cydia that'll renable the menu for you.

Yeah dude. The package in Cydia is an easy way to go, if you can find wi-fi and download it. it's called TZones Hack.

Calvy thanks that's exactly what I needed. Unfortunately for now I am getting a source code error and can't download/install. Hopefully all will be fixed in a day or so.

I unlocked my iPhone2G which has 2.1 s/w in it . in my network settings EDGE is not shown up . I don't have wi-fi connection to follow the solution mentioned above . Is there any otherway to do it offline ? I mean I have an internet connection to my laptop , can I download something to my laptop and put it on the iphone which makes the EDGE setting to show up?

Just type in epc.tmobile.com under general>network>cellular data>apn. Leave username and password blank.
