T-Mobile HotSpot Add-On Plan + iPhone 2g

I don't know about that plan but I have the sidekick pre paid plan on my unlock ed original iphone. the sidekick plan is $1 a day for unlimited internet and text and it works just fine. all I had to do was enter epc.tmobile.com for the APN
 
That's weird that you got a sidekick plan to work, because I was under the impression sidekick plans only use the Danger server which won't work on unlocked 1st Gens. I also currently have a sidekick plan (unlimited text, web, & email for $20 a month) and tried multiple APNs and no luck.
 
Yeah I've been reading around the internet that its been hit or miss with the sidekick plan. maybe its because I have a pre-paid sim card? or it might be based on location?

Just checked my phone settings and my APN is now blank and I don't know how that happened but my data connection and texting still works.
 
Pretty lucky. I'm also wondering why t-mobile is calling it the "HotSpot Add-On" when in the description it doesn't give you access to t-mobile hot spots anyway, and just says unlimited web&mail.
 
can sum1 please help me? i have an unlocked iphone i dont know what generation it is!! all i know is its silver on the back and its an 8gb. i have an tmobile sim card in my iphone, i also have the data plan. but i how do i set up my data plan?? i've been reading where people have posted "all you have to do is type in epc.tmobile.com" where it says vpn. but im guessing i have an older version of the iphone and thats why things arent working! can sum1 please help im a newbie to this so please give me step by step instructions? it'll be greatly appreciated!!! my email is rellik718@msn.com

Footnote says it ONLY gives you access to hotspots and no EDGE.
