T-Mobile seems to be launching their own (yawning now) line of branded phones called the REVVL series.
The one below is the T-Mobile REVVL T1

The new phones expected to be launched are called the T-Mobile REVVL series, claims a report from Android Authority. The model you see above is said to be the T-Mobile REVVL T1, which reportedly features a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 display, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 3000mAh battery, and fingerprint reader.
The Android Nougat-powered REVVL T1 is said to be manufactured by TCL, the same company that’s manufacturing the BlackBerry KEYone.

It looks alright.

Vodafone do one over here in the UK and I often wonder if anyone would buy these devices.
Turns out I've seen 2 in the wild. One of them earlier this week. My new boss at work has one!

Looks pretty decent, and this looks like a similar kind of device.

I imagine the reps / sales people in these stores would be able to sign some people up to them if the price was right.

Comes down to software really. If they offer an Android One like experience with zero bloat and timely updates, T-Mobile can sell a good deal of them. Knowing them, it will be bloated, has some extended warranty, and more price/finance friendly options.

I think it all comes down to price myself. If they have the phones in all the TMO stores with the right price and financing available they will sell a ton of them. All of the TMO reps will no doubt be instructed to push these phones.....

They have to price them really cheap because people can go ahead and bring their own devices with plenty of strong choices like the OnePlus, Google Pixel, iPhone, etc.

Nope. No way in hell would I offer this phone over an LG Aristo, LG K20 or even a Samsung J3. These phones are just crappy Alcatel phones rebranded for T-Mobile. We are launching an Alcatel A30 tablet tomorrow as well, and that tablet is just as much a piece of junk as the Alcatel tablet we sold previously. (And I use the word 'sold' loosely, because in 4 months we haven't sold a single Alcatel device.) I sway people away from a junk phone or tablet, because ultimately, they come back to you as the person that sold them a crappy experience. And I want my customers coming back to me.

Strong feelings.
And my response was more on behalf of the Vodafone device they sell over here in the UK. It's an OK device for the price.
Even some tech reviews I read (purely out of curiosity) were surprised at how decent enough it was.

But yeah, I get what you're saying.

Would have looked so much better without the slot on the bottom bezel.
That slot should be indicating that the phone has front facing stereo speakers though. I agree that it would have looked physically better were the bottom clean, the speaker is something I'd be happy to compromise the aesthetic on.
