First off, I have absolutely no experience in design but I am trying to learn enough to get some basic designs done of some t-shirts, etc. that I would like to make.

Question #1: Is there a basic design software for tees/apparel out there that someone with limited knowledge could use?

Question #2: Which design software would work best for someone just trying to learn, but would allow for more advance designs in the future?

Thanks for all the help!

You want Illustrator, so you can use vectors to trap your colors.
Nice & crisp for type & straight edged stuff. Re-sizable to any size without quality loss.

Photoshop if you need photo 4 color process quality prints (photos or bitmaps)
Not re-sizable without quality loss

Thanks!

It seems like everyone I am talking to about this is saying the same thing... Illustrator.

I appreciate the help.
