TAB function on IOS 5 keyboard?

Is it possible to TAB on an IOS 5 keyboard? I'm using it on my iPad 3.

No. You must be using a Bluetooth keyboard to have the tab function.

Thank you. Also on the OS X the spotlight can be used as a dictionary. Is it possible with an IOS?(other than holding on to the word and then press 'define'). What's the quickest way to find out the meaning of a word other than having to access a 'third party' dictionary?

iOS' Spotlight cannot be used as a dictionary. The quickest way in iOS is to type the word and select it then tap define.

You don't say what you're trying to do, but if you're using Apple's Pages you can lightly tap the cursor and then select 'Insert' on the pop-up menu and then you can pick 'Tab.'

It's possible other apps may have their own solutions.
