Q:Do tab groups work in Big Sur or will they only work in Montery? I have Big Sur 11.6 and for the life of me can't make sense of Tabs/Tab groups and how they are supposed to work. Many of my searches for help have ended on pages that STILL didn't really explain but seemed (as so often) to simply be copies of text from other pages. Seems that you're supposed to open all of the tabs you might want in a group (?) and THEN make a tab group? I've noticed that if a group is made, and a new tab is opened, and you choose from the menu 'add to tab group 'x' ' that all it does is replace the page already there with the new one! What might I be doing wrong? Or am I expecting too much from this update? Can someone please direct me to a 'usable' page of instructions for using tabs? I found even the instructions at Apple to be not very clear. Thanks

I am very "old fashioned". I never adopted the concept of "tabs" on a browser. I always disable them. Been that way since the early Netscape days back in the 90's, or before "tabs" even existed. They are an annoyance to me. Disable them and turn the page.:)

You can have tab group in Big Sur. Just download Safari 15 in software update.

Tab group is great. what I have is 4-5 tab groups for each topic I'm interested, like Apple tab group will have all sites I frequent for Apple news. Tab group reduce the number of Safari windows or tabs you open since you can re-open any tab group very quickly so you will rarely have a reason to just leave your Safari windows or tabs open indefinitely.

Any simple instructions for adding tabs to a group or making them? I've tried and each time when I check the group the only tab is the one I just added! As if all they do is replace one another ....or am I doing it wrong? Set of simple instructions or video that you know of????
