Hello all,

I have converted a few movies with handbrake and tagged them with Meta X and they look really well in front row and itunes.

But i was wondering if it was possible to add information such as descriptions and casting credits to a Video_TS Folder that has not been encoded to any other format. Front row loads up Video_TS folders and the quality is much greater than the encoded movies so to future proof my collection i would like to tag the dvd folder instead of having to encode every movie i own.

Thanks to anyone who can help me on this matter.

Peace,

Chief

As far as I know there is no way to "tag" a VIDEO_TS folder. Where would the data be stored? There's simply no facility to do it.

Michael

Well thank you for responding.

Would be nice if Front Row could read the movie information from another file and kind of alias it to the Video_TS folder. Not sure if that makes any sense but either way.

Guess i will have to decide whether to convert my collection or deal without having the synopsis and credits for all of my dvd's.

Peace,

Chief

I think Front Row can read an image file placed in the video_ts folder in order to show the cover art, but that is all as far as I know. I too would much rather keep everything in unencoded video_ts folders for better quality, since there is really no other standard that works with everything and includes the entire DVD with title menu, extras, settings, etc.

The artwork can be shown by placing the .jpg image of the movie into the Video_TS Folder and naming the image Preview.jpg.

But i am still looking into getting the production and genre credits and such showing up like iTunes movies do.

I get all of my movie artwork from this brilliant website: http://getvideoartwork.com/index.php

It is filled with High Definition artwork either from iTunes or from photoshop uploaders.

Peace,

Chief
