I just downloaded my "Service Summary" from att.com/wireless, log into your account, and you can download this 10+ page PDF document.

I'm on the $59.99 including the $20 in there, so 39.99 voice.

Well, the taxes and fees come to $11.64 plus $2.95 in other ones, for a total of $14.59 every month! My last phone was $59.99 and the fees totaled only $5.50 per month.

This is crazy. $14.59 a month. What does AT&T have particularly high fees or something? Well obviously I'm not going to call this a "deal breaker," cause I'm going to keep my phone, but $14.59 sure is more than I was paying in taxes and fees, for the same amount of service. A bit upsetting.

911 alone is $3.15!!! On my last phone it was like 49 cents!

i was actually wondering the same thing. had t-mobile before switching over to cingular and the taxes were/are ridiculous....

Well...

Just wait 'til ya get your first bill. I've just learned to ignore ATT's additional charges and bend over for them--seriously.

It's the price we pay for good technology.

This is insane this is phone service not highway robbery. with the 79.99 plan it seems like my monthly bill is going to be well over 100 dollars + activation fee and only 900 minutes a month sign.

So your old and new cell phones plans had the same area code, and the surcharges were substantially different between T-Mo and AT&T? That's really interesting... I knew it varied greatly by area code, but I didn't know it varied by company.

I have T-Mo, and the charges on $45 worth of plan (minutes + text package) = about $5.

On Verizon the charges on an $85 plan are about $15. That is a pure voice (family) plan. So those seem higher but not terribly so.

Yeah that is what I experienced great increase in taxes/fees on AT&T.

I am finding it impossible to find this summary. I followed the steps their FAQ says to but it is not there. Am I missing something important, or am I just blind?

Yeah, they get you on the "Taxes & Fees", most of which are State and Federal taxes/fees that are pass on to us. Does anyone still think corporations pay taxes?

My $80 Family Plan costs me roughly $105

ATT told me I am on the cheapest plan at 50 a month... so for me its 50 for minutes + 30 for iphone + 10 for second line + taxes, so it comes to just over 100 a month. sucks...
