Someone wanted to sell this for 140 bucks.
iphone 3g 16g jailbroken/unlocked via sim adapter (whatever you call it)
Installer/Winterboard/Cydia
Suprisingly everything works except the speaker. Ive even dumped songs onto it.
Was just curious what you think damage like this would affect.

Beside that fact that you can't charge it, would never be able to sync it?

Actually i connected it and it attempted to sync, but i declined because i wasnt going to keep it.
It also charged.
Do you think if i restored it back to factory, would the genius bar swap it out?

No, that's not a hardware defect. It's someone taking a screwdriver and jamming it right into the 30 pin connector. I'm pretty sure you're SOL in this case. Try contacting the buyer about not receiving the item as it was described.

They would claim you abused it. That happened to my iPod touch. The guy was nice enough to replace it along with its cracked glass, but he wasn't suppose to do that.
It will most likely cost $199 for an OOW repair.

I agree - that looks like accidental or even intentional damage that is not covered under warranty. Apple will just offer to replace it for $199, if that.

The only reason i considered buying it was because my contract is up (still using my 2g iphone) and im tired of ATT robbing me for 170+ bucks a month. Drop a tmobile chip in and i start saving. Now that i think about it, it may not even be worth it. I will just go buy a 3GS at 199.00 and stay with ATT.

What is your usage for your bill to be $170+ each month? At most, it should be $130+taxes. ($100 unlimited calls + 30 unlimited data+texts)
