Just told me that with a 2 year contract the iphone comes out to 200 and 300. I find this hard to believe but he told me it was true again this not concrete information. I do not believe it is true because thats seems way too cheap for the iphone. Just something that was told to me by an aT&t employee.

i hope he's wrong. if it was that cheap really EVERYBODY would have it, and that makes me not want it.
i highly doubt it. call every apple and at&t store near you, as well as at&t customer service a hundred times. i guarantee every answer will be $499 and $599, no discounts of any kind at all. i think your friend is just looking to get people excited, or he's basing the pricing off of every subsidized they carry.
I work in a at&t COR store... and we have not been told that. We are going to the official iphone training on June 27th and June 28th. Dont believe the hype!!

Thats makes you no better then people who buy things because everyone else is. You wouldn't be buying the iPhone because its good/does what you want/ whatever you reason, but to make yourself "different"

pretty much. i like the latest and greatest. i don't like having the same old crap everyone else has, no matter what it is. its also why i've never bought a cell phone in america before. I do love everything about the technology inside the iPhone as well, however, or I wouldn't be buying an american release phone. so sue me.
So can you tell us when to expect to be able to get information on inventory numbers?????

I doubt they'll be that low, but there are plenty of credible articles out there projecting that Apple will be pretty quick to come down on prices for the iPhone simply because of the glut in the market with competitive releases of other phones in '07. Apples' projected profit with the 8gb iPhone is something like 53% per item over actual cost.

So why'd you get the MacBook? Yuck...I for one, decided to get a MacBook Pro and have it painted by Colorware...now I'm better than you! Also, I'm spending over $900 for the iPhone after canceling out of Sprint....so take that pseudo-snobby, actually just lower-middle class internet arguing man.
