I am teaching a summer school program that has a 1 to 1 student to ipad ratio. I thought it would be great to bring my personal apple TV to the classroom so I could mirror my ipad on the the board rather than be tethered to a cord at the front of the room.

I assumed it would easy, just plug in and go to set up, but I can't seem to get things to work. I brought my apple remote, which is not what I use at home. (harmony one) The apple TV does not seem to respond to the remote. could pairing of the remote be an issue? Other ideas for why nothing is working.

Apple TV turns on fine, and looks to find time and date, but eventually the screen saver comes up.

Thanks

have to pair the remote.
go to settings and i believe its menu & play button for 7 seconds (google 'pair apple remote to apple tv')

is there wifi there?
connect the apple tv to wifi and use the iphone as the remote.
