My working iPods as of right now are: Every iPod touch except the 6th gen. iPod nano 2nd and 3rd gen. iPod shuffle 1st gen. iPod Classic 3rd, 4th, and 6th gen.

The 3rd gen iPods are pretty nice, but the battery life isn't all that great and they won't charge through USB which is a pain. I do love the red backlit buttons though.
Yea, I just got one on eBay (arrived yesterday) and it's pretty beat, but works fine. I'm gonna swap the HDD for an iFlash when that arrives so hopefully that helps with the battery life. The all-capacitive buttons are pretty cool. And I use FireWire for my 4th gen., so it's not too big of a deal, but it would be pretty irritating if I would've had to go get more cables.

I just got a 5.5 gen iPod video. It has ssd and 1900 mah battery. It’s a beast with 50+ hrs of battery life.

I’m planning to get a sunflower imac to complete this collection

Hi,
in terms of battery life my modded 7th gen runs 120 hours with my wired headphones. But I also use it with the kokkia bluetooth adapter that uses the battery of the ipod. So a huge battery is fine. My modded 5.5 gen lasts 54 hours with wired headphones.

Regards
Torsten
