I go into the settings and choose 1, 2, and 3 and can feel a difference between each of them, but even though I choose 3, my daily use keeps giving me a very weak (seemingly) feeling home button.

I'd pay $50 for an app that gave me unlimited adjustability to the home button feedback, even if it took 20% more battery power to use (ha ha- but I'm not kidding) just to get a punch-in-the-face feeling when I push the home button. Are there any settings/tips/tricks for getting more feedback from the home button? Or is the weaker home button something other people have dealt with...?

There’s nothing you can do with a system level component such as the Taptic Engine.

Yeah, I know there's no app type solution, that was just wishful thinking... but is this a common problem, or anything that other people have experienced?

The setting your referring to is for 3-D touch not the haptic intensity. As mentioned by @akash.nu haptic feedback isn’t adjustable. I’ve noticed differences in intensity from one update to another. When iOS12 came out, I noticed the haptic for going to the app switcher when there are no apps open was noticeably weaker...

Why is that 3D Touch? It's a separate setting for the Home Button.

I haven't noticed any change in mine since I initially set it (to 2). Maybe take it in to an Apple store and have them check that the Taptic engine isn't faulty?
