I did this at Walmart for my 8+ last year and no, the card was issued after the phone was activated. Not sure about how the other stores do it, but I'd doubt it.

That suck , since it help greatly in lower the cost of the phone

Agreed, I'd check to see what the stipulations are. I know with Walmart the card was void if the phone was returned, but Sam's and Target may have different caveats.

Dover NJ? We’re not far from each other...Hi neighbor.

Hope so. How did those deals work in the past. Was it monthly payments but for price of two phones you pay payment of one
You pay both payments but T-Mobile credits you ever month the exact monthly amount for one of them.

The stipulation for the last few years, however, has been that you need to add a line for the "free" phone. Now, if they offer it for an XS max, you're probably paying less adding a new line than you would be for the phone. Keep in mind that you're "stuck" with them for two years though. If you leave, you are responsible for the remaining balance on the device.

As an aside, we just moved to cricket. Perfect for us and we are saving almost $50 a month over T-Mobile. That's a "free" iPhone every two years in and of itself. I'll either start buying outright or go with Apple's upgrade program, especially now they're offering loss/theft protection.

Where did you find this? Any word on Apple Watch? I'm guessing I'm SOL as there were no deals last year in the newer models. But if by some miracle the stainless comes with $100+ gift card I may be in the running lol.

Series 3 is $199 and Series 3 cellular is $299. It’s easy to find. There is a website that has only Black Friday ads and is its own website for all the ads that are coming out. On top of that, google is always your friend.

holding out for a tmobile BOGO

That's how I got ours on VZW last week. Did have to add a line. Oh well. It's another $20 vs $32. And I get another 15gb of hotspot. Which is helpful since we have no internet options where we live. And we use the extra line as a home phone. Have my girlfriends old 6s on it.

Exactly how I feel about Cricket. The plan is so cheap, there is no need for these promo gimmicks. Just curious how you plan on doing IUP though - you need a postpaid plan to initially buy the phone.

Didn't realize that lol. I thought you could just grab it without. Oh well. I guess I'll buy outright.

Right on the Target site. This wasn't a leak on one of the bf sites.

Can you use the gift card in the store after purchase?
