Target display mode question

I have an iMac 21.5" (Late 2013) and I wonder if I could use it as a monitor for my new built PC, therefore, I would like to know if the target display mode would still work if I bought a mini displayport to Displayport cable. With the mini displayport plugged into the iMac and the displayport connected to my graphics card.
