My new todo list app with integrated twitter and maps has been approved on the app store. You can find more details here: http://www.taskerapp.com

I would love a little feedback on the app if anybody gets a chance to check it out.

here is a basic description:

Tasker is a task manager for the iPhone and iPod touch with integrated maps. You can easily see where you need to go today by viewing all the tasks as pins on a map.

Tasker also has a clean, intuitive date view so you can see all your tasks that you need to do today as well as anything scheduled for the future.

Tell the world about what you're getting done with Tasker's twitter integration. Tasks will tweet when they're complete.

Excellent app just tried it and like it a lot.

Horrible icon however. Truly ugly. In my opinion anyway.

Bad Icon?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the input. Its a work in progress and we're planning on adding a lot of features in upgrades that will take it to the level of the best-in-class todo lists out there.

So the icon is really that bad? I've attached an image of it to this post so others can comment on it:

Hi I like your app and have just downloaded it but yes the icon is awful.

You have a great 'rich high quality' looking graphic on the site already, using the red drop pin (pic below) - it wouldn't be quite right as a 'tick' is probably needed somewhere, but it better gets across your unique selling point (the drop pin & mapping of the to-dos) and is imho - good looking.

I do really like the app tho.

I have to agree with Marky, that graphic is gorgeous! Perhaps use that? And yes, try and implement the tick in there somewhere as well...?

3d artwork

Thanks guys, yeah, I'm much more experienced with the high-res 3d artwork than icon style stuff. Also after staring at the same icon for months I cant tell what people will think of it on first impression.

I'll see what i can do about getting a similar style with a tick mark. The issue is you lose a lot of detail when you get down to the icon resolution and end up not being able to tell what things are.

Improvement

Ok, i've been fiddling with it a little bit. I havent had the time to get into the 3d tools but let me know if you guys think this is at least better:

How about a tick mark out of the pin? And you can still lay it over the nice map graphic. I don't think you have you use a check box :)

It's a slight improvement but the concept as a whole still doesn't look good. Looks very amateur. I agree with others though I really would try and use that pin in the map graphic somehow, incorporating a tick...

Does this app work if I'm in flight mode without wifi connection? I would love an app like this if it was possible to use it while being abroad and not be forced to roam

Qom - Need internet for maps

Hi qom,

Unfortunately you need some kind of internet connection for the maps part of the app. it uses google maps the same way the iphone maps app does.

some maps are cached automatically by the system but you would be unable to zoom in or scroll and get new map data.

All other parts of the app work without internet though, so you can still see the lists and dates for the tasks.
