Tax for APPs??

I noticed that Apple has started to tax App Store apps? Am I right? I just notice my last 2 purchases were higher than the advertised app and processed through my bank for more than the $.99 (Slotz Racer) it should have been?? Or did I just never see this before?

I've been getting charged for sales tax since the App Store first opened. I've assume that is because there is a physical Apple Store in my state.

Alaska... lol, opening soon, the first apple store made of ice instead of glass!... that would be awesome... except the macbooks would melt the display tables with how they keep them running there.

As far as I know it is a software tax. I first noticed this when purchasing games for the iPod G5 when games were first introduced. I'm not 100% sure but I don't believe I get taxed on music.

I live in Illinois and I don't get charged a tax.

I've also been getting taxed since the store opened. Nothing new here in Colorado.

I live in North Carolina and we have at least one apple store in Raleigh that I know of. I do not get charged tax for apps.

Some states have begun to tax digital downloads. If your state requires it, Apple collects it. Simple as that. This has nothing to do with Apple, they simply collect taxes for the states, as required by law.
