Taxes for an UK author publishing in the iBookstore

Hello. This is my first post to this forum.

I am in the UK and I want to sell ebooks through the iBookstore.

How/where are the eBooks taxed?

For example: if I sell a $9.99 book in the US, how much will I receive (I suppose $6.99)? and what taxes do I have to pay in the UK?

What about if I sell the book in the UK?

Thank you for your patience. These legal/accounting issues make my brain hurt.
