Hi everyone,

Seeing as though Apple is now effectively out of the monitor market and have teamed with LG for the new 4k and 5k monitors, how can I connect my 5k iMac to one?

Apple lists the 5k iMac as being capable of...

Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to two 4096x2160 external displays or one 5120x2880 dual-cable external display

...and the thought of a second 5k monitor (or even TWO 4k monitors!) is very appealing. But how would I connect it/them to my beautiful 5k iMac? Looking at the pictures of these monitors on Apples website it appears that they both only have USB-C connectors. I've searched on Apples and Amazons websites and don't see any USB-C to Thunderbolt cables.

Any ideas?

Wow 110 views and no replies yet, doesn't anyone know?
I think that the new 5K LG MUST have a TB3 port from the computer. So you can't do that.

However, you could use each of your TB2 ports for two additional 4K monitors.

Eh. You would have better luck with the Dell 5k right now if you want another display. The new lg ones are meant for the macs with thunderbolt 3 or usb-c.

Or you could wait for the 2017 iMac with usb c / thunderbolt3

It says in your answer that it supports one 5k (!) display with dual-cables aka two display port its all that will work.
