I ordered my mom a 1.5 ghz Solo Mac Mini because my dad dicked up our peecee. She will mainly be using it for web browsing, mail, maybe some photo and music. What apps should I introduce her to first, and are teher any other tips for a beginner? I've used an iBook a fair amount doing work for my church and I'm saving up for a MacBook (I'm 14 almost 15).
Thanks In Advance,

i just gave my mom my old ibook, she previously hadn't used Mac OS
i gave her a 5 minute talk on how to power it up, how to use the web browser and word, and told her just to fool around with everything else and she picked up on mac OS X very quickly and with no major problems

those ports on the back of the pc, tempt me to do some data transfer of my own all the time.

Only show her what she needs to do at the time.

Write up a few basic instruction guides for the things she might need to do that have a series of steps - burning a CD, mailing photos

Put a link to Mac101 on the Apple support site on her Safari bookmarks called 'Help me!' so that if she gets stuck and you're not around, she can get some easy to read help.

I know what you mean. A few years back i had a tablet pc that i gave my friend to use while he was travling, a month later he comes back and hands me the laptop telling me its not working anymore. It took me 5 mins to start it up, 2 mins to load IE, about 1 min closing the 50 windows it poped-up and another 4 mins trying to close the pop-ups that poped-up when i closed one pop-up.

Took me a endless hours trying to fix it but then i ended up re-installing windows. He now uses a g3 ibook and as far i as i know he has 0 problems.
