I just got a maxed out 13" rMBP and am trying to figure out if it's just the graphics or if I have a messed up battery, but when I use it I never get anywhere near 10 hours of battery as promised. I'll get about 4 to 5 but when I'm playing tf2 it seems like it plummets in about an hour or two.

Is this usual for such games?

Impossible for me to say why you're not getting 10 hours of battery life as I don't know what kind of things you're running on your Mac, but yes, gaming typically is very intensive and it's not surprising that you get considerably less battery life when playing Team Fortress 2.

What I would suggest, if you haven't already, is enabling vsync in the settings which should hopefully limit the framerate to more sensible rates and may therefore improve battery life. It also may be worth trying lowering the settings at which you're running Team Fortress 2.
