This creams everything on the market. Good lord. 4158 on Geekbench! That's approaching my 2011 MBA, which got 5200 or so. This is awesome.

Yep, 2013 is gonna see some really, really fast Android phones and tablets. I can't wait to see how fast the S4, Note 3, Nexus phone and 7/10 tablets are gonna be this year.

Doubtful. Apple doesn't need NVidia, like Android does. Apple is content to adjust software to match their own hardware specs for performAnce.

Tegra 3 was very fast when it unveiled. By the time it was available in devices - Apple had surpassed it.

Given how few Tegra optimised content there was for my HTC One X, I'm just not impressed by these high benchmarks as they mean little in real world usage due to a lack of optimised applications that ever take full advantage. In a world of Android hardware when there a still a multitude of devices running low memory and slower CPU's (more so than super fast hardware) it seems software is often far better optimised for slower hardware than super powerful ones.

Yup, just look at how many people are still buying 2 year old technology in the iPad 2 and iPad Mini.

This is progressively approaching a change. When Tegra 2 launched, it was not that great even in prototype and tech displays. The iPad 2 was significantly faster. iPad 3 started to paint the same picture but the Nexus 7 creeped up. The Tegra 3 was impressive. The iPad 4 processor is the bee's knees. That has nothing to do with software adjustments. The iPad 4 is a beast, plain and simple.

But Nvidia is starting to catch up.

That's more Android optimization than Tegra 3. Developers make more money in the iOS ecosystem so naturally, they spend more time developing content for it.

Mostly because the technology meets the needs. My iPad mini works wonderfully and does everything I need. Most people don't need quad core CPUs in tablets, other then to play games perhaps.

That is because Apple focuses more on how fast it feels, not how high the numbers are on a specs page. In overall use my iPhone 4S feels faster than my Nexus 4, even considering the Nexus 4 has 4 times as much RAM, twice as many CPU cores, and is clocked at ~700 Mhz higher for all cores. Because of Apple's controlled ecosystem, they are more easily able to achieve great performance out of decent hardware, whereas Android requires more powerful hardware to reach the same real world performance.

Even knowing the advantage Apple has in that area, I won't be going back to iPhone anytime soon. Although it is extremely fast and smooth, I hate the OS limitations it puts on the user.
