My friend has an iPhone 14 Pro Max and she's on the latest iOS version. If she tries to send me a large video file on Telegram, she has to keep the app open and prevent the screen from turning off by periodically clicking anything. If the screen turns off or she switches to any other app, the moment she goes back to Telegram that file transfer would restart from the beginning. That is for both sending and receiving files. I checked her settings to ensure that Telegram is allowed to run in the background and also enabled the keep connection live in Telegram but that didn't help.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I have a Google Pixel 7 Pro at the moment and Telegram would send and receive files even if I switch to another app or the screen turns off.

Maybe hard restart the iPhone? Ive noticed some gremlins with apps with the most recent iOS - had to do this to get Filmic Pro Legacy to behave the other day (not on iPhone 14 I might hasten to add).

Further thoughts occur in the event that the forced restart didn't stabilise things:
a. Is there enough space on the phone for the file?
b. What about force quitting just the Telegram app?
c. Uninstall the app and reinstall?

Restart has been done many times.

a. Yes, more than enough space on her 512GB iPhone 14 Pro Max
b. No difference.
c. That's the only thing she didn't try.

Just to confirm, if you try sending a large file to someone, then switch to another app and in about 10 minutes go back to Telegram, do you see the file was sent or does it start sending again?
